Sue Dougan, BBC Radio Cambridge Presenter and Tony Piedade, Founder of JoggingBuddy.com entered and completed the Great Cambridge Run on the 21st September 2009. The Annual event was a cross country half marathon which saw over 300 runners take part.

The event raises money for the British Heart Foundation and has become a regular event in the Regions calendar. The route is cross country through fields and woods and takes in much of the grounds of Wimpole Hall. Local Air cadets volunteered to man the course and dish out water to the runners.

Tony Piedade said, "there was a great feeling of community. I normally run in events which are much larger in numbers, but the feeling of being in such a close knit group all running for a purpose was fantastic."
