Dublin Marathon partners with JoggingBuddy.com

Date: February 2010

The Lifestyle Sports - adidas Dublin Marathon organisers have partnered with JoggingBuddy.com the FREE social networking website designed specifically for Joggers and runners.

This partnership, the first of its kind in Ireland, will see both organisations promote each others services to a wider audience, promoting the Dublin Marathon across a wider an varied membership on JoggingBuddy.com.

The Founder of JoggingBuddy.com, Tony Piedade said "its great to be working with the Dublin Marathon, they host a great event. Our members are always looking for new and varied events around the world. Runners like to try out new events, so its great to be able to turn the spotlight on some of our partner."

Race Director, Jim Aughney said, "Joggingbuddy's platform has fast become the place to be seen for events like ours. Its all very well getting people to participate in events like ours, but having a good number of finishers is also important, the largest contributory factor for this is training; joggingbuddy helps runners to find someone near them to train with, that is very appealing as friendships can be formed before the event and runners can benefit from being motivated to train by each other. It's a partnership that makes sense, and what's more. Its all free, so there is no reason not to recommend this to our database of runners"

JoggingBuddy.com was only founded 16 months ago; already it has almost 8000 runners, all looking for someone to train with. Although originally launched as a UK centric site, the website has now opened up to membership from all over the globe and boasts members in 55 countries and growing.

The website is full of smart functions designed for runners, once signed up members can plan running routes, find buddies, search for events, log their runs in the running log section and contribute to the forum.
